WHO: Temple University Army ROTC

WHAT: 2018 Open House Event

WHEN: 1400 18 January 2018

WHERE: Outside Ritter Hall and the BioLife Building

This afternoon, the cadets of the Red Diamond Battalion held an Open House Event outside Ritter Hall as well as the Bell Tower. Despite the cold weather, a large turn out of students, faculty, and community members stopped by the event and competed in different physical fitness challenges including pull-ups, push-ups, and planks. The Open House Event was an effort to increase ROTC awareness on campus and recruit more cadets before the university add/drop date.

The tables included a Tactical Gear Demonstration, ROTC Recruitment Table, the Career Center, Travis Manion Foundation, USAR and NG, and the Temple Veterans Association. Additionally, a medical recruitment team lead by CPT Manning, set up a combat casualty scenario in the STAR Center to attract health profession students.

Cadets work together to assemble a rope bridge on Liacouras Walk.

MSIII Juniors lead the initiative and insured safety during the demonstration.

The Ranger Challenge Team rappels off of the Bio Life building.

Students, Faculty, and community members all line up to participate in physical fitness challenges and to learn more about Army ROTC.
